Deep Tide TechFlow News: On March 19, according to Cointelegraph, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California recently dismissed Coinbase user Roger Metz's attempt to prevent the IRS from issuing a subpoena. Metz filed the lawsuit in May 2025, claiming that the IRS subpoena demanding Coinbase to hand over financial records related to its 2022 tax audit infringed on privacy rights and was procedurally irregular. He stated that he had identified errors and paid additional taxes before the subpoena was issued. The court dismissed the case on the grounds that Metz did not notify the U.S. Attorney General within 90 days, ruling that the service of process was insufficient, but allowed him to refile the application in the future.
