Vitalik: The separation architecture between Ethereum's Beacon Chain and execution clients should be reconsidered
ChainCatcher News: Vitalik posted on X platform stating that we should keep an open attitude toward the current separation of the Ethereum beacon chain and execution clients. He believes that running two guardian processes and enabling communication between them is significantly more complex than running a single guardian process.
Vitalik pointed out that Ethereum’s goal is to allow users to use the network in a self-custodied way while providing a good user experience. In many cases, this means users need to run their own nodes, but the current node operation methods add unnecessary complexity. He suggests that in the short term, a more standardized foundational packaging solution could enable users to install Docker images of different clients for easier communication. Meanwhile, as the LeanEthereum consensus scheme gradually matures, future architecture designs should also be reconsidered.
