Bauxite Prices Plunge by Half; World's Largest Bauxite Exporter to Take Action

People’s Financial News, March 17 — According to recent reports from multiple foreign media outlets, Guinea, the world’s largest bauxite producer, is negotiating with mining companies to control market supply in order to curb the downward trend of raw material prices. The report states that the price of bauxite, a raw material for aluminum oxide production, has nearly halved since early 2025. One of the main reasons for the sharp decline is a significant increase in supply, far exceeding market absorption capacity. It is reported that Guinea accounts for about 70% of global bauxite supply, with exports reaching 183 million tons in 2025, a 25% increase year-on-year. (CCTV Finance)
