Haikou’s new over-river tunnel for the 220 kV Binjiang Transmission and Substation Project and the 220 kV Guojiang Line A and B successfully energized, marking the official operation of Hainan’s first over-river power tunnel. This adds a new “energy artery” between Haikou’s city center and Jiangdong New Area, providing a practical example for constructing power transmission channels across rivers, seas, and densely populated urban areas in Hainan. The tunnel is an important power corridor connecting Jiangdong New Area with Haikou’s city center, with a total investment of 134 million yuan, a length of 1,050 meters, crossing the Nandu River. It is currently the longest, largest, and most technically challenging power tunnel in Hainan Province. (CCTV News)
