Height-increasing institutions expose money-grabbing truth: relying on pseudoscience, your child will grow even if you don't come to us
Special Topic: Improving Consumer Quality — Focus on the 2026 “315 Gala”
According to CCTV Finance, reporters found promotional posts from various online platforms where merchants claim they can install “accelerators” in children’s bones to easily increase height by several centimeters. These tempting promises appeal to many parents’ hopes. However, while this business is booming, the “3.15” Gala has also received multiple complaints from consumers claiming they were deceived.
Based on the store names left in online promotions, reporters visited a chain called “Anlishen Youth Physical Height Increase” institution. It was weekend, and the store was bustling, with more than ten children undergoing height-increasing treatments.
During visits, it was found that many Anlishen stores attract parents with core promises of “contract guarantees and full refunds if ineffective.”
As an investigator posing as a franchisee, the reporter visited the headquarters of “Anlishen Youth Physical Height Increase.” During the conversation, the person in charge revealed the truth.
The head of Anlishen Youth Physical Height Increase headquarters stated: “We have an advantage—children are going to grow anyway, even if they don’t come to us. But we don’t tell parents that.”
Not only is Anlishen deceiving consumers, but another nationwide chain, Dejiru Youth Physical Height Increase, also offers similar height-increasing programs. They have the same pricing and promise full refunds if ineffective.
Unlike other similar stores, they have an exclusive physical height-increasing technology based on a self-developed ultrasonic device.
Based on the brand information displayed on Dejiru equipment, the reporter visited the device manufacturer. The manufacturer explained that the core function of the device is anti-inflammatory and pain relief, unrelated to height increase.
Additionally, the manual provided by the manufacturer explicitly states that children under 14 are prohibited from use.
The reporter also discovered that the patent Dejiru claims to hold is actually for a control system patent, which has nothing to do with height increase. Other patents provided by the company also lack functions related to “stimulating the growth plate and accelerating bone cell division.” Confronted with doubts, the headquarters and technical staff revealed the truth.
The head of Dejiru Youth Physical Height Increase said frankly: “Children can grow naturally anyway; most just grow slowly. No matter how effective, they will grow—it’s just a matter of more or less.”
These physical height-increasing institutions not only target teenagers with consumer fraud but also claim that they can increase height in adults with closed growth plates.
The head of Dejiru stated: “Adults just straighten their bones; they don’t grow new bones. Truly growing bones is impossible. Trying to reopen closed growth plates in adults is impossible—it’s all a scam.”
Although industry insiders know that once the growth plate closes, natural height increase is impossible, another company, Yingruike Body Height and Constitution Conditioning Center, claims it can achieve “closure height increase,” defying scientific knowledge.
The head of Yingruike told reporters that they can do physiological conditioning, psychological intervention, and even include metaphysical methods. As long as parents are willing to pay, they can include it in a height-increasing package.
However, when asked about the scientific basis and medical support for their height-increasing methods, the head of Yingruike said they have no medical data or clinical validation reports and just want to make money.
The deceptive height-increasing institutions Anlishen has registered related trademarks.
The CCTV “3.15” Gala exposed marketing tricks of height-increasing institutions, specifically naming Hangzhou Anlishen Health Management Co., Ltd.
Tianyancha shows that Hangzhou Anlishen Health Management Co., Ltd. was established in April 2024, with Chen Heyun as legal representative, registered capital of 1 million RMB. Its business scope includes health consulting, remote health management, fitness and leisure activities, and is jointly held by Wenzhou Nanlin Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., Wenzhou Anli Gao Enterprise Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), and Hangzhou Jide Big Health Management Co., Ltd.
Intellectual property information indicates that the company has applied for multiple trademarks such as “Anlishen” and “Anlisheng,” covering advertising, sales, pharmaceuticals, etc., most of which are registered. The company also holds a patent for a “leg exercise device.”
Suzhou Yingruike Health Management Co., Ltd. was also named.
Tianyancha shows that Suzhou Yingruike was established in September 2024, with Pan Senru as legal representative, registered capital of 500,000 RMB. Its scope includes food sales, remote health management, health consulting, sports health services, and nursing services, jointly held by Pan Senru and Gao Jinru.
The 2024 annual report shows the company has zero insured employees.
According to Tianyancha Professional, as of now, China has over 17.195 million healthcare-related enterprises. Geographically, Guangdong, Shandong, and Henan have the highest numbers, with over 1.685 million, 1.575 million, and 1.202 million respectively.
Tianyancha risk data shows that among healthcare-related businesses, 1.37% have faced legal lawsuits, 3.57% have experienced abnormal operations, and 1.13% have been subject to administrative penalties.
