Xcel Energy is proposing an 8.7% natural gas rate increase for 492,000 customers in Minnesota, amounting to an extra $7.11 per month on average. The company states these funds will support safety improvements, technology updates, and infrastructure enhancements. Customers can provide feedback on the proposal through public hearings scheduled for April and May, or by contacting the Minnesota Public Utility Commission.
