Ancient Cave Ground Discovers Wartime Mortar Shell - Police Detonate on Site

Around 9 a.m., police received a report of a suspected shell at a construction site on Pak Shou Road, Ko Tong. Officers arrived to investigate and believe it is a wartime mortar shell, approximately 25 centimeters long. The scene was cordoned off within a 50-meter radius, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel were called to handle the device. Firefighting robots were also on site for standby.

After inspection, EOD personnel decided to detonate and destroy the mortar shell on the spot. The device was successfully detonated around 11 a.m. During the incident, about 100 people were evacuated to a safe location, with no injuries reported.
