Last year, domestic wind power installation capacity reached a record high, with impressive overseas export performance.
The domestic wind power market in 2025 continues to be highly prosperous. According to the latest “2025 China Wind Power Installation Capacity Statistics Brief” released by the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society (CWEA) on the evening of February 13, last year saw a record high of 18,272 new wind turbines installed domestically, with a new installation capacity of 130 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 49.9%, far exceeding the 9.6% growth in September 2024. While the domestic market experienced significant growth, overseas markets also became an important growth driver for Chinese wind power companies. In 2025, China exported an additional 1,175 wind turbines with a capacity of 7.734 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 48.9%, setting a new record. By the end of 2025, the total exported capacity of Chinese wind turbines reached 28.522 million kilowatts, exported to 60 countries across six continents, adding three countries compared to 2024. The main markets for cumulative exports are concentrated in developing countries, including Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other emerging markets. (First Financial)
