Abstract generation in progress

The Tourism Board announced that in the first two months of this year, a total of 9.95 million visitors traveled to Hong Kong, an 18% increase year-on-year. Among them, visitors from Mainland China totaled 7.9 million, a 22% rise, mainly driven by the Chinese New Year holiday and various major events.

Visitors from markets outside Mainland China totaled 2.06 million in the first two months, an 8% increase year-on-year, with long-haul markets performing particularly well, as visitors from Australia, France, and Germany increased by approximately 20-30% compared to last year. In the short-haul markets, due to the changing dates of the Chinese New Year and Ramadan, overall short-haul market performance showed monthly fluctuations.

In February alone, there were 5.1417 million visitors to Hong Kong, a 40% increase year-on-year. Of these, visitors from Mainland China numbered 4.2481 million, a 53% rise, while visitors from markets outside Mainland China totaled 893,500 in the first two months, a 1% decrease year-on-year.
