CITIC Bank Launches "Parent-Child Financial Services System"

Recently, CITIC Bank launched a new “Parent-Child Financial Service System,” focusing on the diverse needs of parent-child families in wealth accumulation, children’s education expenses, and family investment preservation and appreciation. Through specialized and scenario-based parent-child financial services, it injects wealth momentum into family growth.
According to reports, this system centers around the co-branded “Puppy Money” debit card, which is built around two main themes: youth development and family wealth management. It offers parent-child account functions and benefits such as children’s health, parent-child reading, and themed parent-child salons, deeply integrating financial services with daily family needs to help families better manage their wealth.
Using a classic IP to inspire financial literacy, building the path for youth growth
Recently, CITIC Bank partnered with CITIC Publishing Group to launch the co-branded “Puppy Money” debit card, attracting many parents who save their children’s New Year’s money after the Spring Festival.
“Puppy Money” has been a global bestseller for 20 years, with over 10 million copies sold across 28 countries and regions. It is regarded as a “wealth-building guide for all ages,” consistently ranking high on domestic bestseller lists in finance and parent-child education. The publishing industry believes it fills a gap in children’s financial literacy literature in China and pioneers a hybrid content model of “reference book + fairy tale narration.”
CITIC Bank states that the concepts conveyed in “Puppy Money,” such as savings, planning, and goal setting, align closely with the bank’s goals for parent-child financial services. Through this co-branded card, the bank hopes children can gradually understand and establish correct wealth concepts by engaging with familiar IP characters while using basic financial tools. The card is now available at CITIC Bank branches nationwide and via mobile banking. Cardholders have the chance to receive a “Puppy Money” themed gift box, and parents can apply online and activate the card offline to help their children get their first bank card.

In addition to the co-branded debit card, CITIC Bank’s new “Parent-Child Financial Service System” also includes “Parent-Child Accounts,” covering three key areas: financial protection, financial literacy cultivation, and growth companionship. Through savings products, account management, and parent-child services, it helps parents scientifically manage their children’s education and growth funds while guiding children to develop correct money concepts and financial literacy.
The launched parent-child accounts are an important step for CITIC Bank to focus on family financial scenarios and implement a customer-centric transformation.
