People’s Financial News, March 17 — Since March 15, the international carbon black giant Cabot China has announced an increase in the sales prices of all specialty carbon black products produced in China, with a rise of 1,800 yuan per ton. This is the second price increase announcement for carbon black products issued by Cabot China this year. Regarding the reason for this series of price hikes, Cabot China clearly stated that the core issue is the ongoing high production costs, which have made it difficult to absorb the costs internally and maintain the original pricing. According to multiple industry insiders, after the Spring Festival in 2026, the price of the key raw material for carbon black production, coal tar, experienced a significant increase, becoming a key factor driving up the costs for carbon black companies.
