India's PM Modi Speaks with Iran's President on Phone to Discuss Ensuring Safe Passage of Tankers

Odaily Planet Daily News: Indian Prime Minister Modi and Iranian President Raisi discussed the “serious situation in the region” during a phone call. India is currently seeking ways to ensure the safe passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Modi posted on X platform stating that he is “deeply concerned about the escalation of tensions, civilian casualties, and damage to civilian infrastructure,” and added that “the safety and security of Indian nationals, as well as ensuring the unobstructed transit of goods and energy, remain India’s top priorities.” He did not specifically mention maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
