Coinworld, March 13 – According to Cryptopolitan, Etherscan has issued a warning to users after a victim received 89 address poisoning transactions within 30 minutes of making two stablecoin transfers. Address poisoning attackers monitor blockchain activity and create fake addresses with similar beginning and ending characters to valid addresses that users have previously interacted with. They then send nearly worthless small transfers to the target, causing them to appear in transaction history, deceiving users into mistakenly copying the attacker's address during subsequent transfers. Etherscan recommends that users always verify the complete target address and utilize its address highlighting feature to distinguish between similar addresses.
