Wu Shuo has learned that Coinbase's institutional research team disclosed that the Ethereum mainnet officially deployed the ERC-8004 "trustless agent" protocol on January 29, aimed at building the core infrastructure for autonomous interactions of AI agents. The protocol establishes three major foundational registries involving identity verification, decentralized reputation (similar to FICO scores), and execution verification by minting AI agents as unique ERC-721 NFTs, allowing agents to prove the correctness of model execution without revealing private information. Data disclosures show that the Ethereum mainnet recorded over 22,900 registrations in the three days prior to the protocol's launch. Coinbase points out that the deployment of ERC-8004 signifies Ethereum's evolution from a transaction ledger toward a neutral coordination engine for the machine economy (M2M).
