Crypto news reports that, according to the crypto research firm Santiment’s tweet, the leading tokens discussed on social media Thursday include: Tether, which caused widespread discussion due to a high-profile on-chain error involving approximately $50.04 million USDT being mistakenly exchanged on Ethereum for about 324 AAVE; this incident involved execution risks, extreme slippage, and MEV, and led Aave’s CEO to announce a refund of approximately $600,000. Aave also became a focus after executing a large on-chain swap through its frontend that accepted extreme slippage, resulting in about $50 million USDT being exchanged for only a few hundred AAVE tokens, as well as a price oracle/liquidation event involving asset pricing errors. Ethereum drew significant attention due to the launch of spot ETH ETFs supporting staking by major asset managers like BlackRock, which combine spot exposure with platform staking features. Solana was driven into concentrated discussion by reports of intermittent network outages, slow confirmations, as well as high-profile NFT releases and developer announcements. Ripple gained attention after announcing a stock buyback plan and ongoing debates about its funding operations through XRP sales. Avalanche sparked notable social discussion following Grayscale’s launch of the Avalanche Staking ETF on Nasdaq and news that AVAX can be transferred via native integration to be traded on Solana.
