DoNews, March 10 — According to Macau Daily News, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong announced its 2025 fiscal year results, mentioning that the group sold all its interests in the Macau telecom business in January for a total of HKD 110 million, ending over 20 years of operations in Macau.

During the 2025 fiscal year, the group’s recurring business revenue was HKD 5.448 billion, up 17.3% year-on-year; EBITDA remained stable at HKD 1.508 billion. However, due to losses from the Macau telecom business, the net attributable loss was approximately HKD 25 million, turning from profit to loss.

The group’s Hong Kong business recorded a profit of HKD 18 million in 2025, a 42% decrease year-on-year, mainly due to a decline in bank interest income. EBITDA increased by 6% to HKD 18 million; a one-time provision for a loss contract from the Macau business was recorded. Excluding this one-time provision, the group’s attributable profit would have been HKD 5 million. Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong’s capital expenditure remained stable at HKD 433 million.

Hutchison Telecom Chairman Canning Fok stated that after selling the loss-making Macau business, the group can operate with a more streamlined structure and focus on investing in the Hong Kong business.
