Abstract generation in progress

On March 9th, the first day of the new semester, leaders of Qilu Medical College visited classrooms to listen to the “First Lesson of the Semester,” organizing personnel from the Human Resources Department, Student Affairs Department, and other functional departments, as well as leaders from various colleges (departments), to participate in classroom observations.

The school leaders conducted on-site inspections of the teaching environment and operations, carefully observed teachers’ teaching processes, understood students’ listening states, and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with teachers and students. They focused on creating an educational atmosphere that “promotes a strong academic style through excellent teaching conduct,” ensuring a high starting point for the new semester’s teaching work.

On the first day of school, classrooms across the university maintained orderly conduct, with students energetic and thinking active, actively engaging in in-depth interactions with teachers about the teaching content. Teachers were well-prepared and delivered lively explanations, using diversified teaching methods such as case studies and scenario simulations to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning. They also seamlessly integrated ideological and political elements into the curriculum, closely combining patriotism education, career planning guidance, and cutting-edge professional developments to achieve the unity of knowledge transfer and value guidance.

“Leadership’s First Classroom Visit” has been a fine tradition of the school for over ten years and is a core measure in advancing the “Four Firsts” Teaching Quality Project (focusing on the first class, standardizing the first day, strictly controlling the first week, and solidifying the first semester). This activity serves as a “weather vane” for assessing teaching order and a key tool for strengthening academic and teaching styles. To ensure the quality of the first lesson, the school made meticulous preparations before the semester, including supervising trial lectures for new teachers, comprehensive debugging of teaching equipment, and relying on a “online + offline” dual inspection mechanism to ensure high standards in teaching.

This activity was simultaneously conducted across all affiliated and teaching hospitals. The hospitals attached to the school attached great importance, responded quickly to the school’s arrangements, and promoted the activity based on the principles of “medical-education collaboration and quality first” to ensure effective implementation. The school will systematically analyze observation and inspection data, continuously improve the “supervision-feedback-improvement” closed-loop management mechanism, and empower the high-quality development of education and teaching.
