According to a real-time poll by Morning Consult, American public concern over rising oil prices is increasing, with about half blaming President Trump.

The survey shows that 74% of Americans believe gasoline prices have risen this year. This is a 30 percentage point increase compared to the company’s last related survey six weeks ago.

Morning Consult conducted an online survey of 1,002 American adults, weighted by demographic factors, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.

When asked who bears the greatest responsibility for current oil prices: 48% said the president and his administration, 16% pointed to oil and gas companies, 13% blamed global market forces, and 11% attributed it to former President Biden.

Morning Consult President Kyle Dropp stated that low oil prices were once a major highlight of this administration.

According to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA), oil prices have been rising continuously over the past 11 days, with the average price of regular gasoline increasing by more than 20% compared to last month.

Currently, gasoline costs $3.60 per gallon, up from $2.95 a month ago.
