National Railway Fixed Asset Investment of 72.2 Billion Yuan Completed in First Two Months

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 11 (Reporter Fan Xi) — According to the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. on the 11th, from January to February this year, the national railway completed fixed asset investments of 72.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. The high-quality and efficient advancement of railway construction has injected new momentum into regional economic and social development.

A relevant person in charge of the Construction Department of the National Railway Group introduced that since the beginning of the year, the group has focused on serving major national strategies and regional economic and social development. Leveraging the advantages of a long industrial chain and wide radiation scope in railway construction, and making good use of the national “dual support” policies, they have accelerated railway development. During the Spring Festival holiday, over 570 key railway projects across 46 regions continued construction, with more than 38,000 workers on the front lines. After the holiday, efforts have been made to strengthen organization for resumption of work and production, emphasizing safety, quality, ecological protection, and project investment control. A number of key projects have made positive progress.

In Henan, at the construction site of the Qinpeng High-Speed Railway’s Qinhua Bridge, built by China Railway 23rd Bureau, over 200 workers are actively advancing pile foundation construction for the bridge. The Qinhua Bridge is 11.99 kilometers long, with the deepest pile foundation reaching 108 meters, making it the longest bridge pile foundation along the line. In Shandong, the second section of the Weishu High-Speed Railway station project, built by China Railway 14th Bureau, has fully resumed work after the holiday. The construction of the Weifang Grand Bridge, crossing the Weiqing Expressway, is steadily progressing, and the lower structure of the bridge has been successfully completed. In Hubei, the Hujiawan Water Diversion Bridge, a key project of the He-Wu High-Speed Railway built by China Railway 18th Bureau, has successfully connected the continuous beam across the Water Diversion River. The Hujiawan Water Diversion Bridge is 13,501 meters long; its continuous beam crosses the Water Diversion River and runs parallel to the existing He-Wu Railway, with high construction difficulty and safety risks.

A relevant person in charge of the Construction Department of the National Railway Group stated that next, the group will fully implement the railway construction tasks outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan, accelerate the building of a world-class modern railway network, improve the overall functionality and efficiency of the network, and fully leverage the investment-driven effect of railway construction to support the comprehensive expansion of domestic demand and promote high-quality economic and social development in China.
