As part of the conflict with the United States, Iran has used "deadly weapons." This is how The New York Times (NYT) described Iranian drones that struck numerous military targets in the US as well as civilian sites in Middle Eastern countries.

According to the newspaper, since the start of the US and Israel military operation against Iran, Tehran has launched up to 2,000 drones. Iran uses Shahed drones to attack across the region, including hotels and military bases where American troops are stationed.

Shahed is a family of Iranian UAVs developed by Shahed Aviation Industries for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). They are recognized as inexpensive, mass-produced kamikaze drones used in modern military conflicts.
