Why is a pullback more painful than a loss?

Just asking, how much profit do we have left so far this year?
Before September 24 last year, I lost over 200,000, and I didn’t really feel the pain—it’s definitely not numbness from falling. This year, I made over 200,000, but after the recent drop, I feel some pain. Why is a drawdown more painful than net loss? What kind of psychology is this?
