Night Kidney Nourishing Exercise

Method:
Rub your hands together until warm, with the palms facing the lower back at the Shenyu point (located below the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, 1.5 inches lateral). Friction up and down until warm, about 50 times, to warm and tonify kidney yang.

Lie on your back, bend both legs, with the soles of the feet facing each other. Hold your ankles with both hands, try to pull your knees toward your abdomen, then slowly return to the starting position. Repeat 10-15 times. This movement helps to unblock meridians and tonify the kidneys and essence.

Kneel with feet together, sit on your heels, place your hands on your knees, take deep breaths, lean forward, touch your forehead to the ground, hold for a few seconds, then slowly rise. Repeat 5-10 times. This exercise nourishes the kidneys and promotes qi and blood circulation.

These small health-preserving techniques from Taoist qigong, through internal and external cultivation, can help achieve harmony of body and mind, health, and longevity.
