I meditate and sit quietly atop Cangyan Mountain

Like moss growing on stone, like clouds resting on the mountain
Before me, the lake stretches out, shimmering waves breaking the sky’s light
Like the gentle embrace of the Milky Way, softly laid upon the water

The deep forest beside me, lush and misty
Birds chirp, rising and falling, sometimes distant, sometimes near
Falling into the gaps in the trees, they gently spin around the branches and leaves
Floating toward the lake surface, they scatter with the ripples
Unrestrained and free, the most natural whisper of heaven and earth

The distant peaks are snow-capped, pure as Zen
Standing quietly in the shadow of clouds, silent and peaceful
Secluding all worldly noise beyond the mountain mist
Leaving only a touch of clarity, reflecting the vast lake light

The scent of green grass, mixed with the gentle sweetness of the lake breeze
Washes over the senses, bringing tranquility to the bones
A gentle breeze lifts, brushing through silky hair
Carrying the coolness of the forest leaves, kissing the tips of the eyebrows

The warm sun descends, softly covering the face
Merging light and shadow into delicate warmth
Embracing and blending with the wind’s clarity and the grass’s fragrance
All the myriad sounds and colors around me enter into Zen

I sit quietly, my heart without waves
Watching the shimmering lake, listening to the melodious bird calls
Gazing at the snow-capped mountains in stillness, feeling the soft wind and warm sun
It turns out that the non-remote verses of the Sanskrit are the breath of the earth at this moment flowing through the chest
It is the harmony and coexistence of lakes, mountains, forests, and snow
It is me and heaven and earth, gazing at each other
Letting go of a single thought, everything is at peace
