Earthquake in Mexico Today: What Happened in Guerrero State
On January 2nd morning, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 struck southwestern Mexico. According to the country's National Seismological Service, the disaster caused fatalities and numerous injuries among the population.
**Scope of the Disaster**
As of January 3rd reports, the earthquake today in Guerrero State claimed one life. Additionally, 12 people were injured with varying degrees of severity. The natural disaster caused significant destruction in the region.
**Aftershocks Continue**
The most concerning sign remains the activity of ground tremors following the main shock. Experts have recorded over 420 aftershocks, indicating an unstable geological situation in the area. This intensity of repeated tremors keeps the local population on alert and following safety measures.
The earthquake today in Mexico demonstrated how vulnerable the country remains to natural disasters in seismically active zones.
