🇰🇷 South Korea lifts 9-year ban on cryptocurrency investments

South Korean authorities officially remove restrictions that have been in place since 2017, which prohibited companies from investing in crypto assets and holding them on their balance sheets.

The decision opens the doors for institutional capital, which has been outside the market for many years.

Now corporations will be able to allocate up to 5% of their capital to the top 20 cryptocurrencies. About 3,500 companies are subject to the new rules.
