Ever thought about what really threatens prediction markets? Let's break down the key risks lurking in off-chain assumptions:

The real culprits typically fall into three categories. First, you've got the trusted intermediary problem—who actually verifies the outcome? Then there's the transparency issue; if resolution logic isn't crystal clear, disputes pile up. Finally, delayed settlement can create arbitrage chaos and trust erosion.

Honestly, it's a combo pack. Most prediction market vulnerabilities stem from combining all three weaknesses. Without solid on-chain verification mechanisms, oracle reliability, and clear resolution protocols, off-chain data remains prediction markets' Achilles heel.

What's your take—which risk concerns you most?

Oracles are really the biggest pitfall; honestly, it's all about who has the power to feed the data.

Oracles are really disgusting. A single centralized node can crash the entire market... I've seen it happen too many times.

The oracle part is really a huge joke. Who can guarantee it won't be manipulated? Anyway, I don't believe it.

No problem with what you said, but I think the most heartbreaking part is still the oracle. After all, no matter how strong the on-chain mechanism is, it can't withstand data sources that are inherently problematic. --- The intermediary issue is actually a disguised power game; in the end, it's still about who has the final say. --- Delayed settlement is really underestimated. I've seen too many cases of arbitrage caused by this. --- Among the three issues, none can be solved alone; they need to be addressed together, otherwise it's like pressing down the gourd only to have it pop up elsewhere. --- If transparency isn't done well, everything else is pointless; in the end, it still can't escape controversy. --- Instead of discussing risks, it's better to ask which existing platform has truly solved these three problems.

To put it simply, the most heartbreaking part of oracles is that once the price feeding goes wrong, the entire market is doomed... I've seen too many cases of manipulation over the past few years.

I'm the least convinced about oracles... Every time they talk about decentralization, but in the end, you still have to trust a certain node. Isn't there a logical problem with that?
