The foundation of profitable trading isn't just spotting opportunities—it's knowing when to step back. Risk management separates traders who survive market cycles from those who don't.

Start with these essentials: position sizing, stop-loss discipline, and portfolio allocation. Never risk more than you can afford to lose on a single trade. Understand your leverage limits, especially when trading volatile assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or altcoins.

The difference? Seasoned traders focus on capital preservation first, gains second. Build your trading playbook around protecting your portfolio, not chasing moonshots.

Honestly, it's another old story about risk control, but some people just can't listen. I know, right? You have to keep stop-losses in your mind at all times, or you'll get wiped out by a sudden crash. Moonshot can easily get you caught up, and this hit me hard. Protecting your principal is much harder than making money, really.

Stop-loss discipline is truly a lifeline; how many people have died because of the words "just wait a little longer"

That's right, but most people can't resist the temptation when they see the coin price rise and have to go all in to be satisfied.

That's true, but the reality is that 99% of people simply can't do it... Fund management sounds simple, but how many people would go bankrupt when actually trying to implement it?
