The Case of the Trading Robot Promising Guaranteed Profits

The story of SolesBot represents one of the biggest scams in the cryptocurrency ecosystem in recent years. Founder Raúl Soles allegedly transferred approximately $1.2 million belonging to investors before the platform completely blocked fund withdrawals. This transfer left a digital trail that allowed tracking of the movement through a well-known cryptocurrency exchange platform.

From Promising Startup to Pyramid Scheme

When SolesBot launched operations in 2023, it was introduced to the market as an innovative solution: an AI-powered trading robot capable of executing automatic arbitrage trades. The value proposition was simple but attractive: the AI algorithm would analyze markets and buy and sell digital assets at optimal times to maximize users’ profits.

However, from its early months of operation, the crypto community began to point out inconsistencies. Security analyses revealed suspicious websites associated with the project and aggressive marketing tactics aimed at attracting new investors. These behavioral patterns are characteristic of financial pyramids in the cryptocurrency sector.

Pyramid Scheme Characteristics

Cryptocurrency-based pyramid schemes share a common pattern: they promise extraordinarily high returns that far exceed market standards. SolesBot was no exception. The platform offered users the illusion of passive income through a bot that “works 24/7” without manual intervention.

What many investors did not understand was that the system did not generate real value: it simply redistributed money from new participants to the project’s operators. When the structure becomes unsustainable, the administrators disappear with the accumulated funds, just as happened with SolesBot.

Lessons for Investors

This incident underscores the importance of questioning any promise of guaranteed returns in cryptocurrencies. Legitimate platforms never claim to predict market behavior accurately, regardless of how advanced their artificial intelligence is. Due diligence, verifying the operators’ registration, and distrust of marketing pressures are essential tools to protect oneself in this space.
