London-based digital asset hedge fund Karatage announces new move—officially promoting Shane O'Callaghan to Senior Partner and appointing him as Head of Institutional Strategy.

O'Callaghan has an impressive background. Most recently, he was responsible for global institutional partnerships and digital asset sales at IMC Trading, a leading trading firm, leveraging extensive connections in both traditional finance and the crypto space. Prior to that, he served as Global Business Development Lead at Portofino Technologies, a crypto trading platform, thoroughly immersing himself in the digital asset ecosystem. Early in his career, he also gained experience at BlockFi, which has since exited the market.

This appointment signals Karatage's increased focus on institutional strategy—by bringing in senior executives with rich industry experience to strengthen cooperation with institutional clients and expand market presence. In the increasingly competitive digital asset hedge fund landscape, such personnel adjustments often indicate new strategic initiatives by the fund.

It's the same narrative of "Mining Big Shots to Strengthen Institutional Strategies," each time sounding just as convincing. BlockFi has already collapsed, yet you're still sticking it on your resume.

This guy managed to survive from BlockFi and still get promoted to partner, truly skilled.

Haha, another person with a traditional financial background coming to stir things up. Now institutional clients will be well taken care of. His network connections are impressive, from IMC to Portofino to Karatage. It seems he's really aiming for some big moves. That stint at BlockFi is a bit awkward haha, but who in the crypto circle doesn't have some stories now? Is Karatage preparing for the next wave of institutional funding? Seems like he's sensing something. This guy's connections are solid; he’s well-versed in both traditional finance and crypto. There’s definitely something there. Another round of institutional strategies and personnel adjustments. The rhythm is pretty good. Are people who survived BlockFi now gathering at top funds? Interesting. It feels like Karatage is trying to seize a new opportunity in the institutional market. When veterans enter the scene, it usually means? I’m a bit looking forward to what they’ll do next. Satoshi Nakamoto probably never imagined there would be so many Wall Street folks managing crypto funds now.

Ha, more poaching again. This guy has deep connections from IMC, Portofino to Karatage. Whether he can truly deliver results remains to be seen.

Is this the same old trick of undermining and replacing executives? Can they really come up with something new?
