If you don't understand, just ask. Do Fujian people "sell daughters" when they "marry off daughters"?

My friend's mother-in-law said that her daughter didn't receive much bride price and felt it was a loss. Normally, in their area, the bride price is around two or three hundred thousand, and I was shocked to hear that.

But what she said next surprised me even more. She said that although the bride price is high in their area, once the daughter is married out.

It's truly the case that a married daughter is like water spilled out; from then on, the mother's family doesn't need to worry about anything, as everything is managed by the son.

Are all of you in Fujian like this?
