Walrus project has built a complete DeFi ecosystem around the WAL token. As a native asset, WAL is not only a medium of exchange on the platform but also the core driving force of the entire protocol—users use it to conduct secure and private transactions, and to consume and interact within various dApps. More importantly, holding WAL grants governance rights within the ecosystem, allowing participation in major protocol decisions; staking WAL can provide resource support to the network and earn corresponding incentives. This design embodies the core concept of "privacy first," with WAL serving as the key carrier of this philosophy.

On the technical level, Walrus chooses to operate on the Sui blockchain, leveraging its high performance and low latency features to meet storage and transaction needs. The storage solution combines "erasure coding + blob storage"—erasure coding splits raw data into multiple shards and generates redundant shards, so even if some shards are lost or damaged, the original data can be recovered through algorithms, ensuring high fault tolerance; blob storage is specifically optimized for large unstructured data, capable of efficiently handling various files. This architecture makes decentralized storage both secure and reliable, while maintaining high efficiency, creating a privacy-friendly Web3 infrastructure.

It's about privacy, storage, and Sui... sounds impressive, but can it really compete?

Walrus's recent move is quite interesting; the combination of privacy and storage seems to have a real market. Wal's governance design is okay, but staking rewards need to be visible to be effective. Sui chain is fast, but I'm worried that the ecosystem applications might not keep up. The erase coding method is indeed hardcore, but can users understand it? Haha. Privacy-first sounds good, but it depends on how well it can actually protect. The storage solution is so complex; who will be responsible if something goes wrong? How much can staking earn? This is very important. What about wal tokenomics? Have you read the white paper? Privacy is no use if you just talk about it; it must actually prevent leaks. More projects are emerging on Sui, and the competition is quite fierce.

Ha, both privacy and governance sound great, but I wonder if WAL will become the next coin to be dumped.
