Ancient wisdom meets modern crypto: Lao Tzu's concept of "wu wei" from the Tao Te Ching (6th century BCE) echoes what Web3 builders pursue today. Rather than imposing centralized control, wu wei advocates for natural, organic emergence of harmony. It's about stepping back and letting systems self-organize without top-down intervention. Sound familiar? That's the essence of decentralized networks—where consensus and coordination arise naturally from distributed participants, not mandated by any single authority. Sometimes the strongest systems are the ones that don't try too hard to control everything.

nah, empirically speaking the "wu wei" comparison kinda falls apart when you actually look at voting turnout data in major DAOs. like yeah cool philosophy but majority of token holders are asleep at the wheel while 2% whales decide everything... that's not self-organization that's just decentralization theater lol

The way that can be spoken of is not the eternal way, but Web3 seems to be becoming more and more the way...

The way that can be spoken of is not the eternal way. Web3 is exactly this principle; Laozi understood it long ago. Wu Wei (non-action) governance sounds lofty but is indeed the ultimate. Now we're starting to talk philosophy again, but this time there's actually some substance. Decentralization means that no one should think about becoming the boss; in simple terms, that's what it's all about. The most impressive systems are those that seem to have no one in charge—ironic, isn't it? Ancient people did not deceive me; it's just that most of today's builders haven't fully grasped it. It feels like everyone is right, but projects that can truly achieve "Wu Wei" are few and far between. The Dao De Jing is indeed the ultimate compass for Web3—no joke.

Haha, I really laid it all out about the crypto world this time. Wu Wei is self-consistent. No wonder we tend to quote classics all the time.

The way that can be spoken of is not the eternal way... Isn't this exactly what we've been doing all along? Haha

Haha, that's a perfect analogy. Even when I travel through time, I have to say "I'm super."

Wow, I'm also into Web3 now. Now even the ancients have to join us in the revolution.
