The main scam method was a two-step approach: first, convincing you to buy virtual currency, then guiding you to transfer to their designated “investment platform.” Sounds familiar? Your friends suddenly recommend a certain coin or a “high-yield investment project,” and nine times out of ten, it’s this kind of scheme.

The court’s verdict was very firm— the main defendant was sentenced to 12 years in prison and fined. Most importantly, the court precisely determined the scam amount through objective evidence such as company salary and performance reports, demonstrating that the evidence collection and conviction process for such cases has become very mature.

So a reminder to everyone: any stranger recommending virtual currency investments via chat apps can generally be considered a scam. Genuine investment opportunities won’t actively seek you out like this.
