CoinWorld News reports that on January 5, Chief Information Security Officer @im23pds of SlowMist Technology issued a warning that a new type of "2FA security verification" phishing scam has recently appeared for MetaMask wallets. The scammers imitate the MetaMask security alert page to trick users into completing a so-called two-factor authentication process, but in reality, their goal is to steal the mnemonic phrase. The process typically includes a fake security alert page, a false 2FA verification interface with a countdown timer, and ultimately guides users to input their wallet mnemonic phrase.
