Coincidentally, on this day in 1990, January 3rd, the United States arrested Panama's dictator Noriega and brought him back to the country for trial.
Noriega was sentenced in the US for drug trafficking, money laundering, and other crimes, initially sentenced to 40 years, later reduced to 30 years.
At that time, military operations began at 1:00 AM on December 20, 1989, lasting 15 days. The fighting was quite intense, with significant casualties.
The United Nations protested, Latin America protested, the European Parliament protested, and the Soviet Union protested.
But as you know, protests and trending topics don't last long, and the US-supported new government of Panama quickly took power.
This time, lessons were learned, and it was taken within a few hours.
All martial arts under heaven, only speed is invincible.
