Version 3.0.0 Release and Current Amendments
Version 3.0.0 of rippled, the reference server implementation of the XRP Ledger protocol, went live in December with five new amendments currently undergoing validator voting:
fixPriceOracleOrder: Fixes asset pair data ordering inconsistencies between oracle creation and updates, ensuring predictable asset price lookups through canonical ordering.
fixTokenEscrowV1: Addresses an accounting error in MPT escrows, ensuring that when escrowed MPTs are unlocked, the issuer’s locked amount is reduced by the net amount and total supply is reduced by transfer fees.
fixAMMClawbackRounding: Corrects an accounting error occurring during AMMClawback transactions on the last LP token holder.
fixIncludeKeyletFields: Adds identifying fields to ledger entries—sequence field to Escrow and PayChannel entries, Owner field to SignerList entries, and OracleDocumentID field to Oracle entries.
fixMPTDeliveredAmount: Adds missing metadata fields from direct MPT Payment transactions to properly track delivery amounts.
Game-Changing Updates Ahead for 2026
Rippled v3.0.0 includes three additional amendments currently disabled but nearly code complete:
XRPL Lending Protocol enables on-ledger lending for institutions while allowing XRP holders to earn institutional-grade yield. Potential use cases include:
Dynamic MPT and fixDelegateV1_1 are also in development.
According to Ripple developer Edward Hennis, relevant amendments for the Lending Protocol are expected to enter validator voting in late January 2026, marking a major milestone toward activating protocol-native credit markets on XRPL.
