Today is the winter solstice, and my fren who has "a bit of spare money" is bothering me again.
He sent an old question:
"I want to earn interest from US Treasury bonds, but I also want to be able to use it anytime for work on the chain. Can I avoid being stuck in a long process?"
I just happen to be at my mom's house, with a pot of water boiling in the kitchen, and the dumplings haven't been added yet. I replied to him:
"Sure, but you need to think clearly first - do you want the 'dumplings themselves' or the 'path from the kitchen to your mouth'?"
He: "You’ve started again, don’t be so mystical."
I pointed at the two plates of dumplings on the counter and explained to him:
First plate: The filling is particularly solid, the meat is fresh, and it comes from several reliable butcher shops.
My mom said this plate is the "main plate", it's the most stable and top-notch to eat.
I said: This is like @Theo_Network - it tokenizes institutional-grade, compliant US treasuries into a "basket" and creates thBILL.
You hold it, no need to go to the "meat shop to queue for meat" every day, you can directly use it as "staple food at home": collateralize when necessary, and strategize when needed.
The key point is: the dumplings are ready, served on the table, and can be taken to other tables to continue eating.
fren understood half: "What about the other plate?"
The second batch of dumplings may not necessarily taste better, but my mom packed them very neatly: sealed box, label, insulated bag, and even wrote the date.
She said: "This plate is for you to take away. Don't spill it, don't break it, and don't let anyone stop you to pick on it."
I just laughed: this is like @KAIO_xyz - it feels more like fixing a set of "airport + customs + logistics".
When institutional assets are on-chain, cross-chain, and during entry and exit, what is most feared is:
Walking and walking, the proof is gone, compliance is cut off, and the custody does not match.
What KAIO wants to do is: no matter how you move assets from Chain A to Chain B, compliance and custody should follow accordingly, so that you don't end up with "dumplings falling apart and filling leaking" as soon as you step out.
At this moment, my mom called me: "Don't just talk, the dumplings are about to go into the pot!"
I dumped all the dumplings into the boiling water and watched them float up one by one, suddenly saying something particularly cheesy to my fren:
"What you're asking about right now is essentially like eating dumplings on the Winter Solstice — you don't just want 'dumplings', you want them to be hot and ready to go into your mouth, and not to be messed around with."
I finally gave him a summary, served to him like a bowl.
@Theo_Network: Like "directly giving you a bowl of ready-made hot dumplings", it focuses on being able to roll in DeFi right away.
@KAIO_xyz: Like "a complete packaging and transportation system for you", focused on how to take dumplings away, how to pass customs, and how to not leak or scatter.
fren sent a "Got it," and then added:
"Then I'll have dumplings for the winter solstice, and we'll study the interest issue tomorrow."
I replied to him:
"Yes. Don't think too much about the winter solstice for now, just eat the hot ones first. If they get cold, they are no longer dumplings, they are lessons."
