Trump and the White House respond to the ruling of tariffs as "illegal": insisting on legality and seeking appeal.
According to reports, White House spokesperson Kush Desai stated in a statement that President Trump has lawfully exercised the tariff powers granted to him by Congress to defend our national and economic security against foreign threats.
He also confirmed that the president's tariffs will remain in effect and stated, "Looking forward to achieving final victory on this matter." After the federal circuit court issued its ruling, Trump posted that "all tariffs are still in effect" and indicated that he will appeal to the Supreme Court.
