BTC 15 minutes up 0.86%: Short covering and ETF capital inflows resonate to drive rebound 2026-04-13 13:45 to 2026-04-13 14:00 (UTC), BTC price fluctuated within the range of 70945.9 to 71699.9 USDT, recording a significant increase of +0.86% within 15 minutes, with an amplitude reaching 1.06%. Market attention heightened, short-term volatility intensified, on-chain large transfers and spot and derivatives trading volumes expanded simultaneously, indicating active main capital at its highest level of the year. The main driver of this movement was the large leveraged short positions probing the 72000–73500 USDT range, causing a partial liquidity vacuum, with some shorts being passively liquidated, leading to a rapid short-term price increase. Meanwhile, institutional funds represented by Morgan Stanley continued to flow into ETFs, with the first bank-issued spot BTC ETF in early April achieving a daily net inflow of $34 million, significantly boosting spot demand, suppressing short structures, and providing a capital base and emotional support for this rally. Additionally, influenced by factors such as the easing of US-Iran tensions lowering oil prices and the imminent passage of the US CLARITY Act, global risk appetite marginally increased, further attracting institutional capital into BTC, forming a macro liquidity, regulatory expectation, and technical structure resonance. On the technical side, repeated testing of the upper long-term range and synchronized expansion of spot demand provided strong support for short-term price elasticity. High leverage structures and unnetted short positions in key ranges still pose short-term correction risks; if subsequent spot buying weakens or macro liquidity tightens, the price may decline, and longs could face passive liquidation risks. It is recommended to continuously monitor changes in long and short positions above 72000 USDT, institutional ETF subscription trends, and the Federal Reserve’s late-April policy meeting developments, adjusting tracking of on-chain capital flows, market sentiment, and policy signals in a timely manner.
